AIRPORT TEMPELHOF

The airport Tempelhof in its current form was built between 1936 and 1941. It is the largest architectural monument in Europe and became a symbol of freedom through the air bridge in 1948/1949. The bett1ACES take place at the Hangar 6 of the airport. The highlight will be the combination between Tennis at its highest level and the urban style of the airport.

STEFFI-GRAF-STADIUM

The International German Championships took place from 1979 until 2008 in the Steffi-Graf-Stadium at the venue of the LTTC “Rot-Weiß” e.V. At the beginning of the 1980s, two Germans, Bettina Bunge and Claudia Kohde-Kilsch, were able to win the tournament. From 1986 another German player, Steffi Graf, dominated the International Championships. In eleven years, she has won 9 times and is the record winner of the event. In 2008, the event took place for the last time. However, tennis fans can look forward since the stadium will be brought back to life by the bett1ACES in 2020. The big difference is that the surface changed from clay to grass.

"The corona pandemic also means a difficult exceptional situation in top tennis. As patron, I regret that this year's Grass Court Championships Berlin cannot take place. I am all the more pleased about the bett1ACES as an attractive substitute tournament.

I wish the players a happy hand and all tennis fans who follow the competitions on the screen, exciting entertainment from the first serve to the last match ball."

Angela Merkel, Chancellor
